James ap Jenkins, late 1400s to 1529
James ap Jenkins, or Jankyngs, was a Yeoman of the Guard who worked for kings Henry VII and Henry VIII. His will shows that he was wealthy and owned property in Sampford Peverell, where he also had a 'little wench' called Thomasin to whom he left some of his possessions.
